After releasing three mixtapes between 2007 and 2009, she was signed to Young Money Entertainment in August 2009. She released her debut album Pink Friday in November 2010. Her first album became a success, reaching to number one on the US Billboard 200 and was certified Platinum. Her single “Your Love” reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart, becoming the first female artist to top the chart since 2002. Minaj was named the 2011 Rising Star by Billboard. Her follow-up album Pink Friday, Roman Reloaded was released in April 2012, and in 2013, she landed a job as a judge on American Idol. Nicki made her acting debut in The Other Woman, and released her third album, The Pinkprint, in 2014. Nicki made major headlines in May of 2015 when her “Feeling Myself” video with Beyonce came out and she appeared to be making fun of Tyga for dating 17-year-old Kylie Jenner.
Best Known For:
Nicki’s trademark candy colored wigs are perhaps more well-known than her catchy hooks.
