Natalee Holloway

Bio:
Natalee Holloway (born Natalee Ann Holloway, in Clinton, Mississippi on October 21, 1986) was an American teenager who garnered worldwide attention after she went missing on May 30, 2005 in Aruba at age 18. The teenager [at the time] was on a class trip to the island in the Caribbean, when she suddenly disappeared. During a night of drinking, her friends who she attended the trip with, last saw her outside a restaurant and nightclub. There, she met Dutchman Joran van der Sloot and brothers, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe. After the night out, she left a bar with van der Sloot and was never seen again. The case became a media obsession and her disappearance remains unsolved. In 2009, Lifetime released a television film, Natalee Holloway, based on her mother, Elizabeth “Beth” Holloway‘s book, Loving Natalee. Twelve years after her disappearance [on August 16, 2017], her father, David Holloway and a private investigator found human remains in Aruba [after an 18-month investigation]. The remains were DNA tested to confirm if they are Natalee’s, but in September 2017, it was confirmed that they do not belong to her.

Personal Life:
Natalee Holloway was 18-years-old when she disappeared. Holloway is the eldest sibling in her family; she has a brother, Matthew. Her mother, Elizabeth and her father David Holloway are divorced. Before she died, Holloway graduated from high school with honors in Mountain Brook, Alabama, where her family resided. She had planned on attending the University of Alabama, where she received a full scholarship, to pursue pre-med.
