Morgan Carey

Bio:
Morgan Carey (born Aug. 6, 1960) is an American best known as the brother of singer, actress and producer, Mariah Carey. Mariah, Morgan and sister Alison Carey were split up when their parents, Alfred Roy Carey and Patricia Hickey, divorced when Mariah was just three years old. Alison went to live with their father, while Morgan and Mariah remained with their mother. Mariah would eventually cut ties with her father (and subsequently, Alison) altogether. Morgan was reportedly a model in the early 1980s, and his time working in Italy led to him eventually moving to the country. Morgan introduced Mariah to songwriter Gavin Christopher, helping launch his sister’s music career. Prior to Mariah’s success, Morgan was a celebrated fitness trainer in Los Angeles, appearing in numerous issues of Men’s Fitness Magazine. Despite growing up with Mariah, Morgan and his youngest sister grew apart. In 2015, he revealed that he hadn’t talked with Mariah in years. In 2016, when their sister, Alison, was dying due to HIV and in need of brain and spinal surgery, Morgan blasted Mariah for abandoning her family to die.

Personal Life:
Morgan, like his sister Alison, reportedly struggled with drugs and alcohol. However, he has kicked the habit. Mariah lives with his wife, Ilaria Negrini Carey, in Italy. His interests are Tai Chi, permaculture and living a sustainable lifestyle.
