Michelle McNamara

Bio:
Michelle McNamara (Born Michelle Eileen McNamara in 1969) was best known as a crime writer. Michelle graduated from the University of Notre Dame and received a master’s degree in creative writing from the University of Minnesota. Her interest in researching unsolved criminal cases sparked her to launch the website True Crime Diary. The site looks find the angle others have overlooked – a suspect’s revealing online activities, for instance, or a similarity between cases that hasn’t been made public yet.

Best Known For:
Michelle McNamara was best known for founding the website True Crime Diary as well as writing about and investigating crime stories and cold cases.

Personal Life:
Michelle married comedian Patton Oswalt in 2005. The couple have a 7-year-old daughter Alice. Michelle died in her sleep Apr. 22, 2016 at the age of 46. The cause of death has not been released.
