Michael B. Jordan

Bio:
Michael B. Jordan (born Michael Bakari Jordan on February 9, 1987 in Santa Ana, California) is an American actor. Michael spent the first two years of his life in California before his family moved to Newark, New Jersey. As a youth, Michael did some modeling for local companies, including Modell’s sporting goods and Toys “R” Us. His first professional acting role came in 1999, when he briefly appeared in an episode of The Sopranos. His first major part came in 2001, when he was featured in the film Hardball with Keanu Reeves. However, Michael’s breakout came in 2002, when he was cast as Wallace in the first season of HBO’s critically acclaimed series, The Wire. From 2003-06, Michael played the part of Reggie Porter on the daytime soap, All My Children. In 2009, Michael was cast as the character Vince Howard in the NBC drama, Friday Night Lights. While Michael appeared in films Redtails and Chronicle, his role in the biopic Fruitvale Station gained him a high level of critical praise for his acting ability. His success continued to grow, as he gained roles as The Human Torch in the 2015 reboot of Fantastic Four and as Apollo Creed’s son in the Rocky spinoff, Creed.

Michael lives in Los Angeles. He enjoys supporting charities such as Help USA and Lupus LA. Michael’s middle name is Swahili for “noble promise.” Michael took tap-dancing lessons as a child. He is not related to basketball legend, Michael Jordan.
