Bio:
Lisa Kudrow (born Lisa Valeria Kudrow on July 30, 1963 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress, comedian and writer. Lisa graduated from Vassar College with a Bachelor’s degree in Science, hoping to follower in her doctor father’s footsteps. She worked on his staff for eight years before she broke into acting. At the urging of her childhood friend, Jon Lovitz, Lisa attended the improv and sketch troupe, The Groundlings. Her early career included roles in Cheers, Bob and Newhart. Her first major recurring part was of Ursula Buffay on the NBC sitcom, Mad About You. Lisa’s breakout came in 1994, when she was cast as Phoebe on Friends. She won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 1998. She stayed with the series until it’s end in 2004. Her film roles include Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Analyze This, Hotel for Dogs and Neighbors. In 2005, she starred in the HBO series, The Comeback, portraying Valerie Cherish, a sitcom star trying to make a comeback. From 2011-2015, she starred in the Showtime comedy series, Web Therapy. In Oct. 2013, Lisa was cast as Congresswoman Josephine Marcus on the ABC drama, Scandal. In 2016 she is set to play Monica in the film Girl on the Train as well as reprise her role for a Neighbors sequel.

Lisa married Michel Stern, a French advertising executive, on May 27, 1995. They had a son, Julian Murray, on May 7, 1998. Her pregnancy was written into Friends seasons 4 and 5, with her character being the surrogate mother for her brother.
