Leon Russell

Bio:
Leon Russell (born Claude Russell Bridges on April 2, 1942 in Lawton, Oklahoma) was an American musician and songwriter. Leon was a a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer whose talents included country and gospel music, and blues and rock — which allowed him to collaborate with many of the finest musicians from Joe Cocker and B.B. King to Elton John and Willie Nelson.

Best Known For:
Leon is best known for being a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member who collaborated with some of the top musicians.

Personal Life:
Leon had heart bypass surgery in July and was recovering from that, when he died on Nov. 12, 2016 at the age of 74. His wife, Jan, said the hardcore rocker had passed away in his sleep in Nashville.
