Kim Mathers

Kim Mathers (born Kimberly Anne Scott on Jan. 9, 1975 in Warren, Michigan) is the ex-wife of rapper Eminem. Kim became well known for often being rapped about in Eminem’s music. In one song, “Kim,” he raps about brutally killing her. They were married at the time the song was released, and she ended up suing him because of it. They also share an oft-rapped about child, Hailie Jade.

Personal Life:

Kim and her sister Dawn ran away from their home in Warren, Michigan when they were 13, and moved in with 15-year-old Eminem and his mom. They began dating in 1989, and had their daughter Hailie in 1995. They got married in 1999, and divorced in 2001 when Eminem debuted the song “Kim” where he raps about murdering her. They got remarried in 2006 but it only lasted a few months. Eminem also legally adopted Kim’s daughter from another relationship, Whitney. Kim tried to kill herself by cutting her wrists in 2000, and again by drinking, taking pills, and smashing her car into a tree in 2015.
