James Spader

Bio:
James Spader  (born James Todd Spader on February 7, 1960 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American actor. Growing in Boston, James would drop out of high school in the 11th grade to pursue acting at the Michael Chekhov School in New York City. His first major film role was in Endless Love (1981). His first noteworthy role would come in 1986, portraying the arrogant, rich playboy Steff in Pretty In Pink. He would have roles in such 80’s classics as Mannequin, Less Than Zero, and Wall Street. Jame’s role in 1989’s Sex, Lies and Videotape would be considered his breakout role as it won him the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival. James’s most noted roles during the 90’s are of Dr. Daniel Jackson in Stargate and of James Ballard in the controversial David Cronenberg movie, Crash. In 2002, James would star opposite Maggie Gyllenhaal in her breakout film, the erotic romance, Secretary. From 2002 until 2008, James was the lead in two hit legal television series, The Practice and Boston Legal. His role as attorney Alan Shore on those programs would win him the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama three times. Currently, James stars in the NBC drama The Blacklist and will be the voice of Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Personal Life:

James married decorator Victoria Kheel in 1987. They had two sons, Elijah and Sebastian before divorcing in 2004. He currently is involved with Leslie Stefanson and together, they have a son, Nathaneal. James loves cooking and is considered an excellent chef. He claims to have a photographic memory, which helps him memorize his parts.
