Jada Pinkett Smith is an American actress, producer, director, author, singer-songwriter, and businesswoman. She began her career in the 1990s when she guest starred in the short-lived sitcom True Colors and then got a starring role in A Different World. She also went into films starring in dramatic roles in Menace II Society (1993) and Set It Off (1996). She later appeared in a wide variety of films including The Nutty Professor, Scream 2, The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Madagascar, and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. Jada also took her talents to TV, starring in the short-lived medical drama HathoRNe. She launched her music career in 2005 when she helped create the metal band Wicked Wisdom, in which she is the lead singer and songwriter. She also has a makeover line and published a book in 2000. She also runs a charity organization with husband Will Smith called the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation, which focuses on kids and family support in urban areas.
