Hilary Swank (born Hilary Ann Swank in Lincoln Nebraska, on July 30, 1974) is an American actress and producer. She has won two Academy Awards for Best Actress and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007. Hilary’s first film was Buffy the Vampire Slayer in which she had a minor role. However, her first lead role was in the fourth installment of The Karate Kid franchise, The Next Karate Kid (1994), which was how Hilary caught her big break. On television, Hilary was a part of the main cast of Beverly Hills 90210 during its eighth season. Hilary played Carly Reynolds, a single mother, from 1997 to 1998. Hilary earned her first Academy Award for her portrayal of Brandon Teena in the biographical film Boys Don’t Cry (1999). That film also earned her the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture — Drama. Million Dollar Baby (2004) was the film that earned Hilary her second Oscar and her second Golden Globe for Best Actress. After winning her second Oscar, she said, “I don’t know what I did in this life to deserve this. I’m just a girl from a trailer park who had a dream.” Other films Hilary has starred in include: The Gift (2000), Insomnia (2002), Iron Jawed Angles (2004), The Reaping (2007), P.S.
