Gretchen Carlson

Bio:
Gretchen Carlson (born Gretchen Elizabeth Carlson in Anoka, Minnesota on June 21, 1966) is an American television commentator and author. In 1989 Gretchen was crowned Miss America while representing her native state of Minnesota. She has since continued to work with the Miss America Pageant and has served as a national celebrity spokesperson for March of Dimes. Gretchen attended Stanford University and graduated in 1990 with a degree in sociology. But gaining experience as an anchor and reporter for several local network affiliates, she decided to try her hand at journalism. In 2000 she joined CBS News as a correspondent and later became the co-host of the Saturday Early Show. In 2005, Gretchen moved to Fox News Channel and became the co-host of the morning show Fox & Friends. However, in 2013, she announced her departure from Fox & Friends and soon thereafter launched a new program called The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson. Her contract with Fox News expired on June 23, 2016, and on July 6 of that same year she filed a lawsuit against CEO Roger Ailes for sexual harassment. Gretchen alleged that she suffered unfair treatment in the newsroom based on her gender and that she was fired from her highly-rated program for refusing Roger’s sexual advances.

Personal Life:
Gretchen Carlson married sports agent Casey Close on October 4, 1997. They currently live in Greenwich, Connecticut with their two children.
