Dianne Feinstein

Bio:
Dianne Feinstein (Born Dianne Emiel Goldman on June 22, 1933 in San Francisco, CA) is the Democratic state senator from California. Dianne has held the position since TKTK. She has held the senatorship since 1992. In 2009, Dianne became the chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, overseeing 16 intelligence agencies. She was the first female Senator to hold the position. She is now the committee’s vice-chairman. Dianne is a senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, as well as the Senate Appropriations Committee. She is also the co-chairman of the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control, co-chairman of the Senate Cancer Coalition and co-chairman of the Senate Women’s Caucus on Burma. And, she’s a member of the Anti-Meth Caucus, the Congressional Dairy Caucus and the Congressional Former Mayors Caucus. Her accomplishments are many: Dianne was the first woman President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, the first woman Mayor of San Francisco, the first woman elected Senator of California, and the first woman member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and the first woman to chair the Senate Rules and Administration Committee.

Personal Life:
Dianne married Jack Berman in 1956 and had a daughter, Katherine Feinstein Mariano. Jack and Dianne divorced in 1959. She married Bertram Feinstein in 1962, and he sadly died of colon cancer in 1978. She married Richard C. Blum in 1980, and they have been together ever since.
