Dave Grohl

Dave Grohl (born David Eric Grohl on January 14, 1969 in Warren, Ohio) is an American rock musician, singer-songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the former drummer for the grunge band Nirvana and the founder and frontman of the rock band Foo Fighters of which he is the lead vocalist, one of three guitarists, and primary songwriter. David dropped out of high school at the beginning of the 11th grade and he still does not know how to read sheet music and writes his music only by ear. His band the Foo Fighters has received twenty-six awards from eighty-five nominations, eleven of them being Grammy Awards. In 2012, Grohl was estimated to be the third wealthiest drummer in the world.

Personal Life:
David is the son of Virginia Jean, a teacher, and James Harper Grohl, a news writer. He has been married twice. He was married to photographer Jennifer Youngblood from 1994 to 1997 and on August 2, 2003, he married Jordyn Blum. Together, they have three daughters: Violet Maye, Harper Willow, and Ophelia Saint.
