Dakota Johnson (born October 4, 1989 in Austin, Texas) is an American actress and model. She made her film debut in Crazy in Alabama in 1999. In 2006, she signed with IMG Models, a top modeling agency. She has had small roles in The Social Network and Beastly. She starred in Fox’s Ben and Kate, though the show was canceled after one season. On Sept. 2, 2013 it was announced that she had been cast as Anastasia Steele in the movie version of Fifty Shades of Grey. Dakota also starred in the feature film, Black Mass alongside Johnny Depp. Following the success of the first 50 Shades of Grey film, Dakota announced that she would reprise her role in the sequel, 50 Shades Darker, which is expected to premier sometime in 2017. Most recently, Dakota and her co-star Jamie Dornan were captured filming the third and final book in the 50 Shades trilogy, 50 Shades Freed.
