Clarence Thomas

Bio:
Clarence Thomas (born Clarence Thomas in Pin Point, Georgia on June 23, 1948) is an Associate Justice of the Unites States Supreme Court. He succeeded Thurgood Marshall as the second African American to serve on the court when he was appointed by George W. Bush in 1991. Justice Thomas’s confirmation to office was a tough battle due to his controversial case with Anita Hill, who was his assistant at the time. During his time on the bench, he has usually taken the view of a conservative, often supporting the executive branch. While he is often seen very quiet in court, he is known to be a very strong supporter of the Second and Tenth Amendments.

Clarence Thomas is best known for his conservative views, which defend the rights of state and local governments. He is also known for his controversial nomination and confirmation that was centered around Anita Hall’s sexual assault allegations.

Personal Life:
After his divorce from his first wife, Thomas married is current spouse, Virginia Lamp in 1987. Justice Thomas has one child with his first wife, named Jamal Adeen. He and Virginia also took in his nephew at the age of six years old. In 2007, he penned an autobiography, detailing his political views and reconciliation with the Catholic Church.
