Chris Young

Bio:
Chris Young (born Christopher Alan Young on June 12, 1985 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee) is an American country music artist. Chris showed interest in music at an early age, performing in various children theater productions. Chris was a part of his high school choir. Chris began performing at clubs in high school and college, playing more than 150 shows a year. In 2005, Chris was encouraged by Billy Block to try out for the American reality television program, Nashville Star. Chris won the competition in 2006, earning him a recording contact with RCA Records Nashville. Late that year, Chris released his debut single, “Drinkin’ Me Lonely,” which peaked at No. 42 on the Billboard Hot Country Song Charts. Chris released his second album, The Man I Want To Be, in September 2009. The first single from the album, “Getting’ You Home” became his first No. 1 hit. He was nominated for a Best Male Country Vocal Performance Grammy. Chris’s Neon album, released in 2011, contained his fourth and fifth No. 1 singles. Two years later, Chris released A.M. in 2013. He released the song “I’m Comin’ Over” the first song off his fifth studio, expected in late 2015.

Chris Young is best known as a country music singer, having won Nashville Star in 2006 and for his hits “Getting’ You Home,” “The Man I Want to Be,” and “Tomorrow.”

Personal Life:
In 2013, Chris went into septic shock from a bacterial infection on a cut on his leg. Chris was rushed to the hospital and spent a week recovering. In June 2014, Chris cancelled a CMA Music Festival performance after he cut his hand with a kitchen knife. Chris has been involved with the Little Kids Rock charity. He has also worked with Stars for Stripes and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
