Ben Roethlisberger (born Benjamin Todd Roethlisberger, Sr. on March 2, 1982 in Lima, Ohio) is an American professional football player. Ben grew up in Ohio, playing as captain of his High School football team. He rolled at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He helped lead the Miami RedHawks to an unbeaten record in 2003. His success that year led him to being drafted early by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2004. With the Steelers, Ben has won the NFL Super Bowl twice, in 2006 and 2009. He’s the youngest starting Quarterback to win the Super Bowl and the second QB ever to register three perfect passing games during the regular season. In 2009, Ben was the subject of a civil suit, where Andrea McNulty accused Ben of sexually assaulting her in a Lake Tahoe hotel room a year earlier. In 2010, police were investigating Ben over allegations that he sexually assaulted a 20-year-old student near Georgia College State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. After the investigation, Ben was not charged with anything. Regardless, Ben was suspended for the first six games of the 2010 season over violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

In 2011, Ben married Ashley Harlan, a physician assistant. They welcomed their first child in 2012, a song named Benjamin Todd Roethlisberger, Jr. Their second child, daughter Baylee Marie Roethlisberger, was born in 2014. He is of Swiss heritage and is a spokesman for Swiss Roots. The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation provides support for police and fire departments throughout the U.S., specifically for those with service dogs.
