Bio:
Austin Nichols (born on April 24, 1980 in Ann Arbor, Michigan) is an American film and television actor. Austin’s family moved to Austin, Texas when he was a year old. He grew up in Lake Austin and attended Casis Elementary School. His interest in acting sparked when he was just fifteen years old and he started taking acting lessons. He initially wished to attend the University of Texas but moved to Los Angeles to study at the University of Southern California. He graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2002. Though Austin had appeared on shows like Sliders, CSI and Wolf Lake, his big break came in two episodes of Six Feet Under. From there, he gained critical praise for his role in 2003’s The Utopian Society. He then co-starred in two box office successes, The Day After Tomorrow and Wimbledon. In 2006, starred as the lead role in John From Cincinnati, a short-lived series from the creator of Deadwood. The next year, he appeared in a handful of episodes of Friday Night Lights before being cast on a recurring role of Julian Baker on One Tree Hill. After the show ended, he appeared on The Mob Doctor and Ray Donovan, before landing the role of Spencer Monroe on The Walking Dead.

Personal Life:
Austin dated Claire Oswalt until breaking off their engagement in 2004. He is a close friend of Jake Gyllenhaal since they met on The Day After Tomorrow. Austin began competitive water skiing from the age of two and he represented the US Junior Water Ski Team in the 1997 Pan-American Championships. He was also on the Junior US Olympic Skiing Team, ultimately being ranked third in the world when he was just thirteen. He suffered a shoulder injury and had to give up the sport. Since John From Cincinnati, he has taken up surfing.
