Arthur Blank (born Arthur M. Blank on September 27, 1942 in Flushing, New York) is an American businessman and co-founder of The Home Depot. Arthur is mainly known today for his philanthropy, The Blank Foundation, and his ownership of the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL, and Atlanta United in MLS. The businessman was born to a Jewish family in Flushing, New York. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School and attended Babson College, where he graduated in 1963 in only three years with a degree in business administration and accounting. Right after graduating Babson, Arthur joined Arthur Young and Company, where he was a senior accountant. The owner then moved on to Daylin Corporation where he became president of a drug store division. After selling that particular division he moved on to another, Handy Man Dan Improvement Centers. This is where he met Bernard Marcus. In 1978, Bernard and Arthur co-founded Home Depot together. Arthur spent 19 years as the company’s president and retired from the company in 2001 as a co-chairman. In 2002, the businessman moved on to sports and purchased NFL team, the Atlanta Falcons. Five years later, he expanded the soccer team Atlanta United FC, which is to play in 2017. Today, Arthur is the Chairman, President, and CEO of AMB Group, LLC, and chairman of The Arthur Blank Family Foundation. He also serves the boards of Staples and Cox Enterprises and is on the Board of Trustees at Emory University. Arthur Blank has a net worth of $3 billion.

Arthur has been married three times and divorced twice. The owner has three children with his first wife, Diana Blank — Kenny, Dena, and Danielle Blank. The couple divorced in 1993. In 1995, he married Stephanie V. Blank and they also had three children: Joshua, Max, and Kylie Blank. He is now married to Angela Macuga, 46, who has three kids from a previous marriage. In early 2016, Arthur revealed that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Fortunately, in March 17, 2016, he announced he is cancer-free.
