Ann Curry (born in Guam on November 19, 1956) is a television personality, most well known for her run as co-anchor on Today. Curry attended the University of Oregon. She began her career in 1978, interning at KTVL in Oregon. After rising through the ranks in local stations in Oregon, she moved to Los Angeles to report for KCBS-TV, and won two Emmy awards for her reporting from 1984-1990. Her substitute anchor position for Matt Lauer on Today put her in the spotlight, and in 2005 she was named as co-anchor for Dateline NBC. Curry replaced Meredith Vieira as co-host of Today on June 9th, 2011. Ann stepped down from the position amid plenty of controversy in June 2012. She went on to sign a contract with NBC as NBC News National and International Correspondent.
