Angela Bassett (born August 16, 1958 in Harlem, New York) is an American actress. She is widely recognized for her Oscar nominated role in How Stella Got Her Groove Back, playing Tina Turner in What’s Love Got to Do With It and her roles on American Horror Story. She graduated from Yale University and has gone on to have a successful film career. She’s also starred in Malcolm X, The Rosa Parks Story, Akeelah and the Bee and more. She is currently starring on the fifth season of American Horror Story: Hotel.

Personal Life:
Angela married actor Courtney B. Vance in 1997. They welcomed twins — Slater Josiah and Bronwyn Golden — in 2006.
