Bio:
Andrea ConstandĀ (born inĀ Canada) is a Canadian basketball player and massage therapist who accused Bill Cosby of sexually assaulting her in 2005. She played basketball at the University of Arizona, and began a career as a professional player in Europe and on the Canadian women’s national basketball team. She became director of operations for Temple University’s women’s basketball team, and during her time there, she met Cosby. According to Andrea’s story, Bill gave her pills to help her “relax” during a party at his home in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, and the sexual assault took place afterward. The criminal investigation against him began in Jan. 2005, butĀ the district attorney, Bruce Castor, did not find credible evidence to prosecute the actor. Castor was criticized for “not trying” to give a thorough investigation because he didn’t want arresting Bill Cosby to tarnish his chances at reelection. Later that year, Andrea filed a civil claim, and Bill settled with her out of court in Nov. 2006. However, Andrea filed a new motion in July 2015, claiming that Cosby had abandoned their confidentiality agreement, and the case was eventually reopened. Cosby was officially charged with sexual assault on Dec. 30, 2015, just before the statute of limitations ran out.
