Alexander Skarsgard (born Alexander Johan Hjalmar Skarsgård in Stockholm, Sweden on August 25, 1976) is a Swedish actor well known for his roles on two different HBO series, “Generation Kill” and True Blood. He starred as Marine Sgt. Brad “Iceman” Colbert in the miniseries adaption of Evan Wright’s book Generation Kill. He was then cast in True Blood as a 1000-year-old vampire sheriff and bar owner Eric Northman. He has also appeared in Zoolander, Straw Dogs, Melancholia, and Battleship. Skarsgard has been voted the sexiest man in Sweden five times.

‘True Blood’ Season Finale: Why [Spoiler] Had The Perfect Death

Spoiler alert: Stop reading if you don’t want to know who (probably) died on the ‘True Blood’ season finale.
Real talk: The Aug. 19 season finale of True Blood gave frustrated fans a lot to complain about. A season-long storyline was sloppily wrapped up in 20 minutes, Sookie (Anna Paquin) suddenly found herself in a committed relationship with very little build-up; and most controversially, a fan-favorite character appeared to have met the true death. I’m here to discuss that last shocker — and why it might not be as tragic as we all think.

‘True Blood’ Season Finale Recap: Sookie’s Wedding Leads To Tragedy

Spoiler alert: Stop reading now if you haven’t seen the polarizing ‘True Blood’ season finale. I’m about to whine about many major plot points.
Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Warlow’s wedding day finally arrived on the Aug. 18 season finale of True Blood, but like most major events in Bon Temps, it didn’t exactly go off without a hitch. In fact, it was pretty much one big non-stop hitch, as Warlow revealed his true intentions to his future bride. Spoiler alert: He’s a total hybrid douche.

After three long seasons of Bill-or-Eric drama, Sookie (Anna Paquin) finally asked a very important question on the Aug. 21 episode of HBO’s True Blood: “Why can’t I have both?” The end result was a steamy scene that gave both Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) fans reason to pause. 'True Blood' Recap: Sookie & Eric Have Sex In The Woods! Best. Scene. Ever.

Eric & Sookie finally consummated their timeless romance, while Bill drowned his sorrows in a glass of wine. Did I mention he was alone?
I’ve been looking forward to the July 31 episode of True Blood — the much-hyped full moon episode — for a while now, and I have to be honest, it was a little disappointing. As it turns out, you can’t “make” someone a were-panther, so Jason (Ryan Kwanten) didn’t get his big transformation, despite the many episodes dedicated to building up his story line. That being said, I was definitely NOT disappointed by the very last scene, in which Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) made sweet nasty love in the middle of the woods!

Seriously, is this even a contest? Ian has already beaten Rob countless times. Prepare to add one more victory to the list!
If there’s one thing teens like more than vampires, it’s the ability to choose which vampire they love most of all. The Teen Choice Awards is well aware of this and has just added a “Choice Vampire” category to its 2011 roster, which once again finds The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder and Twilight’s Robert Pattinson locking fangs in an epic battle of undead beauty. And there’s no doubt in my mind that Ian will come out on top.
