Kate Durocher is a graduate from the University of Southern California (USC), with a BA degree in broadcast and digital journalism and a minor in entertainment and communications.
As a former actress with a passion in performing, Kate thrives off of entertaining and informing others. Working in Los Angeles has given Kate the opportunity to cover a multitude of topics ranging from hard news to entertainment.
Originally from Michigan, Kate has gained off campus experience through her internships with NBCUniveral’s E! News and E! Online, The Hollywood Reporter and The Discovery Channel in Los Angeles as well as 13ABC in Toledo, Ohio.
Aside from her internship experience, she has extensive knowledge in the newsroom due to her work with USC's award-winning campus news operation, Annenberg TV News (ATVN). As a day-of-air reporter, Kate shot, wrote, edited, and produced local stories in Los Angeles and surrounding neighborhoods for the station's nightly newscast. She also has experience working as as assignment desk editor, multi-media journalist, web producer and graphic arts designer for the station.
During Kate's time at USC, she was also the Executive Producer and correspondent for USC's Trojan Vision Television Network's premiere entertainment news show, The SCoop. Kate oversaw a team of fifty other students and worked to put on a weekly, live show that covered all aspects of entertainment life in Los Angeles. Kate developed a passion in entertainment and pop culture from her time with the show.
Furthermore, Kate's journalism courses at Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism have given her experience in reporting and writing in print, broadcast, and digital mediums. She is an energetic, personable host who is ready to bring audiences everywhere their news in a fun, lively manner!
