There’s going to be a major situation in the Sorrentino and Pesce household come spring 2021. Jersey Shore star Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino, 38, and his wife of two years, Lauren Pesce, 35, took to Instagram on December 8 to announce the sex of their baby. In photos taken by Mike’s brother, Anthony, the couple posed next to a gorgeous Christmas tree before Mike and Lauren pulled the lever for the lights to flash either pink — for a girl — or blue — for a boy! The result: the Christmas tree lit up in blue lights and Lauren and Mike revealed to the world that they are having a little boy! You can see the photos here.
The couple was so over the moon and Mike even made a sweet reference to the show that catapulted him to fame upon sharing the photos to Instagram. “Gym Tan We’re having a Baby Boy,” Mike captioned a series of images that captured the moment. Naturally, fans loved the Jersey Shore reference, which recalled the mantra Mike would live by while living on the shore — “Gym, Tan, Laundry!” Now, the couple has a lot to look forward to in the months ahead!
Mike and Lauren are already enjoying this exciting time in their lives and capturing every moment. The couple has even set up a Baby Sorrentino Instagram account, where they added the cutest caption along with images from the day’s reveal. “IT’S OFFICIAL – I’M A BABY BOY,” the caption began, with a sweet blue heart emoji following the words.
“My parents were waiting to see if they could host my first party for the reveal but because of the C word, they decided to be safe, most especially for me and host it virtually,” the caption continued, noting the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. “Please share all your baby boy advice & favorite places to shop for cute baby clothes as my Mama cannot wait to shop for me! Mama & Daddy are thrilled and Mama is about to start full on nursery planning! See you guys next week.”
Lauren and Mike, who wed in 2018, officially announced that they were expecting on November 24, sharing the most adorable photo to Instagram. “Baby Sorrentino May 2021,” the message read. The college sweethearts couldn’t be more thrilled for the adventure ahead after some trying times. Lauren suffered a miscarriage one year ago in November 2019, roughly seven weeks into her pregnancy. But now, the couple is looking forward to springtime when their little boy will arrive!
