It was such a heartwarming reunion for former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice to have two of his four daughters come visit him in Italy during November. Gia, 19, and Milania, 14, arrived on Nov. 6 and headed back to New Jersey on Nov. 19 after nearly two weeks with their 48-year-old dad. Due to the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic, it was the first time the girls had been able to see their father in person in almost a year. Now he’s longing to be with his children again, and wondering when they’re going to be able to come back and see him.

“It’s just been over a week since Gia and Milania left Italy, but Joe misses his girls like crazy already. He’s incredibly thankful they were able to come and visit with him because it’s been almost a year since he’s been able to hug them and hold them in his arms,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. Gia and Milania shared plenty of photos via Instagram while with their dad in Rome, stating how happy they were to be with him again.

Joe moved to Italy in Oct. 2019 to keep appealing his extradition order, after he had been held in a U.S. I.C.E. detention facility since he was released from prison in March 2019. Now ex-wife Teresa Giudice, 48, and their four daughters Gia, Milania, Gabriella, 16, and Audriana, 11, visited him in Italy in late Nov. 2019, along with a Bravo TV crew. The joy of the family being reunited again was shown on RHONJ season 10, along with the breakdown of Joe and Tre’s marriage, as she no longer felt comfortable even sharing a bed with him anymore. The pair finalized their divorce in Sept. 2020.

Joe and his Italian relatives have stayed in close touch with the girls ever since their return to the U.S. “Joe and his mom, Filomena, FaceTimed with the girls on Thanksgiving which was incredible. He was literally counting down the days until Gia and Milania arrived and it seemed like the time flew by while they were there,” our insider continues.

“He’s beyond grateful they came to see him, but it also breaks his heart when they leave. He would love to figure out when Gabby and Audriana can come out next, and a trip with all his girls together when it’s safe would be a dream come true,” our source adds. For the time being, it is still so challenging for Joe’s daughters to visit him in Italy due to travel protocols imposed due to COVID-19. In a Nov. 6 Instagram video just before Gia and Milania arrived, he complained about how the girls were having to undergo quarantine measures and showed the “amount of paperwork you gotta to go through to travel these days. It’s ridiculous.”
