Just over a year before Taylor Swift, 26, and Zayn Malik, 23, got together to put out the hit new song “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” they had some MAJOR beef! It all started when Tay decided to take her music off Spotify in 2015, and Zayn made it clear that he was NOT a fan of that decision.

To prove his point, the 23-year-old retweeted a fan’s message that compared Taylor’s view on sharing music to Miley Cyrus’. “The difference is astounding,” the tweet read, acknowledging that Miley was so giving when it came to her art (“I’ve made my money,” she said. “If no one buys my album, cool. It’s fine,”) while Tay wouldn’t even offer her tunes on Spotify’s streaming service because she didn’t agree with its policy.

The “Blank Space” singer was dating Calvin Harris, 32, at the time, and while she didn’t say anything in response to Zayn’s tweet, her man sure did! “If you don’t get what it means when a successful artist uses their celebrity to benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry….stay out of my f***in mentions pls,” he wrote. And that’s when an all-out war ensued!
“Ha you just made an absolute fool of yourself,” Zayn responded. “You clearly didn’t understand what I just said either. So I suggest you calm your knickers before them dentures fall out. Oh and I write my own s*** too d***head.”
Obviously, Taylor and Zayn have managed to moved past this — it probably helps that he’s now dating her BFF, Gigi Hadid, 21! We’re so glad they did, too, because “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” is a freakin’ MASTERPIECE!
HollywoodLifers, are you shocked that Taylor and Zayn let their feud go to to collaborate?
