After investigating the deaths of four individuals who were found dead in a hotel room in Fairbanks, Alaska on Nov. 25, the Fairbanks Police Department has declared their main suspect to be one of the victims ā McKay Hutton, 22. Their investigation shows that McKay, who was also a new father, allegedly is responsible for shooting the three other victims before turning the gun on himself, according to the FPD Facebook page.
What police think happened is that McKay allegedly shot his mother, 54-year-old Linda Hutton, in addition to his 22-year-old wife, Emily McDonald, and their 8-week-old baby girl, Teagan Hutton. However, authorities have said theyāre still working on establishing a motive in this heartbreaking murder-suicide case.

McKay and Emily were married, according to their Facebook pages, and welcomed baby Tegan earlier this year. On social media, the pair also shared several pics of themselves with a slightly older male child, but itās still unclear what that childās relation was to the couple. The policeās statement did however address questions surrounding the boy. āThat childās identity is not being released at this time but he was not present during this incident and is safe,ā authorities revealed. āRelationship between this child and any of the victims is still being investigated.ā
But pics arenāt the only thing the duo posted online. In fact, in one post, which may have been an anniversary post, McKay couldnāt stop gushing about his wife, which makes this situation even more chilling. āBaby Iām lucky to find you and Tj, the most important part of my life,ā he wrote. āI canāt wait for many more years. Iāve never found I person ever in my life that I could be my complete self with and now I will never be complete without you two by my side, thank you for being in my life everyday through it all. I truly understand what true love is thanks to you, thank you we are the few of the lucky ones.ā
Showing a different side of himself, McKay also shared a post on Facebook about defending the Second Amendment as well as posting a photo of himself in front of a āDonāt Tread on Meā flag. The day of the killings, police received a call from hotel staff at the Hampton Inn about a āsuspicious circumstance,ā according to the initial statement. When authorities arrived, an adult male was found crying in the hallway before the four dead bodies were discovered.
Police now say that the crying man is a relative of the deceased, but he was not present during the shooting and his name is not being released at this time. All four autopsies are scheduled to take place on Nov. 28 in Anchorage, Alaska.
