After last week’s shenanigans, Mystic Falls was left mourning Tyler, the last Lockwood remaining. When it came time to actually bury him, Damon showed up with four empty graves dug as well — ready to kill Stefan, Caroline, Matt and Alaric. He even fed Matt his blood so if he did die in the next 24 hours, he’d become a vamp. Stefan got to the point where he was worried about Damon; he knew that when he did realize what he did, he’d know Elena wasn’t going to be okay with any of it. Stefan, with the help of Caroline, ended up capturing Damon, chaining him and keeping him in a coffin.

Meanwhile Nanny Seline was at the carnival compelling a carny to give the kids a dead goldfish. She brought them to an abandoned room where a stack of wood lay, held their hands, and told them about Cade. Apparently she gave them some sort of magic because with just one word, they lit the pile on fire. Oh yeah, that was Georgina’s was body underneath it. Somehow, that allowed Sybil to break out.
Bonnie skipped the Tyler burial because she couldn’t leave Enzo alone; she had him locked in her house trying everything in her power to get his humanity back on. So, he tried using Caroline’s advice: use his darkest fears to scare his humanity back on. Taking a page out of Elena’s book, she lit her house on fire and refused to move until he turned it back on, since she knew he was afraid of losing people. Ultimately, it worked — she nearly died, refusing to leave him and made him realize how much she loved them. So, while her house was gone, Enzo was back.

The episode attempted to wrap up with a happy tone, with Stefan giving a pep talk at the carnival to the whole group, at the proper memorial for Tyler. That fun ended when Sybil broke Damon out of the coffin and he officially gave her complete control over him. And yes, at the end, Matt found out that Seline was the nanny, but when Caroline and Rick ran home to save them, they were gone; on the table was a drawing of them with Seline… and Cade.
HollywoodLifers, do you think they’ll be able to save the twins?
