We hate to say we told you so, but Kieran (Amadeus Serafini) was revealed as the killer on the Aug. 16 season finale of Scream. And that wasn’t even the most shocking part of the episode — he also explained that he was in love with Piper before he even met Emma. Yeah — try wrapping your heads around that, while we start from the beginning.
This week’s finale episode picked up right where last week’s left off — Emma and Audrey were being driven to the police station after they were suspected to have murdered Brooke’s dad. But on the way, the killer stood in the middle of the road, causing the car to crash. He then slaughtered the police officer before handing Audrey and Emma the keys to their handcuffs before running off into the distance.
After arriving at a gas station the next morning, Emma received a call from the killer, who said, “Oh you must feel like a star. Everyone wants a piece of you. I want to keep playing, so if you turn yourselves in or even get caught, I’m going to gut someone you love. Better start running.”
And run, they did. At least, until they decided to hide out in the movie theater. However, that came after a quick stop at Kieran’s, where Emma told her boyfriend all about their plan. She later told Noah and Brooke about their plan, as well, and even though she told them to stay away, they just couldn’t. Brooke didn’t believe Audrey and Emma were capable of killing her father, so she and Noah headed over to the theater, where they met Kieran and the girls. Once inside, they all split up to scope the place out. And that’s when Emma got a call from the killer. But instead of running anymore, she told the killer exactly where she was and told him to come get her.
Stavo was first to show up, but it was only because the killer posed as Brooke and invited him to come. Being afraid, though, Brooke and Noah refused to let Stavo in.
And then, everyone heard screams coming from the theater room. Once inside, they noticed the killer started playing a movie, which showed all of their friends getting murdered. Apparently, he filmed all the killings. (Gross!) Emma ran up to stop the projector, but when she did so, the killer showed up and stabbed Brooke!

Wanting to save Brooke’s life, they called the police, but Emma ran off before they showed up. And as far as Audrey was concerned — she was nowhere to be found.
Thankfully, Brooke survived, but the killing spree was far from over. Just as Emma was about to turn herself into the police, she got a text, showing Audrey tied up, and it said, “Time to face the mask. Come alone or she dies.” No address was given, but somehow Emma knew where to go — Blessed Sisters Children’s Home.
Once inside, Emma found Audrey and tried to unchain her. And then, Kieran showed up. “I got Noah to ping his phone, and I found out you were out here,” he said. (Emma was using Noah’s phone to stay hidden from the police.) He tried unchaining Audrey, too, but then another surprise guest showed up — Eli.
“I followed Kieran from the hospital, and the second I got in the building, he comes behind me and stabs me! So I played dead and called the police, and told them it was Kieran,” he said.
Kieran denied doing such a thing, and being in love with him, Emma obviously believed him. And then, when Eli went to stab Kieran, Emma shot him. When Kieran grabbed the gun from her, he said something that struck a nerve in Emma. He said, “We’re calling the police. You will feel safe again, Emma. You too, Audrey.”
“What did you just say?” Emma asked. “You just said, ‘I will feel safe again.’ He said something just like that on the phone.”
“What?” Kieran asked before Emma replied, “The killer. Oh my God. It’s you.” And at that very moment, Eli stood back up, but Kieran quickly shot him three to four more times in the chest. Then, he explained his connection to Piper and why they came to Lakewood to kill everyone.
At first it was because he and Piper wanted to get revenge after Maggie “threw her out like trash and [his] dad dumped him in Atlanta, so he could party on pain pills.” That made him and Piper sick to see them together (they dated in Season 1). And then, once Audrey and Emma killed Piper (in the Season 1 finale), he sought revenge on them. His plan was to torture Audrey and then make them look like killers before murdering them. He would then come out the “hero” who managed to survive.
But unfortunately for him, thing didn’t end up like that. Emma ran away, and when he went looking for her, Audrey and Emma outsmarted him, eventually cornering him with a gun. Emma could have easily killed him, but instead, she chose to let him rot in prison.
Things finally seemed like they’d go back to normal, but while in prison — a month later — Kieran got a call from someone who said, “Hello, Kieran. Who told you you could wear my mask?” Was it Brandon James? See what Amadeus had to say!
