While accepting her daughter’s award on stage, Tina explained that Beyonce couldn’t be there to do it herself because she was rushing right from the show to her flight to the UK. Fans immediately began flooding Twitter with confused, angry tweets, pointing out that Bey doesn’t even have to be in London until July 2, calling her and her mom liars for the false information.
But Tina didn’t totally lie, you guys: Bey is due in England on June 28 for a show in Sunderland, so it would make sense that she’d have to get there by tomorrow, the 27th, for rehearsals and the like.

It didn’t stop fans from going on a rampage over the situation, though. Come on, guys, don’t be so hard on Bey: She completely owned the show when she took the stage for a last-minute performance of “Freedom” with Kendrick Lamar! Her dance moves, vocals and look were all totally on-point…we can’t hate on her for leaving early when she has such a busy week coming up across the pond!
