JTT & Zachery Ty Bryan Wrote An R-Rated Pilot & We Could See It On TV Soon

Jonathan Taylor Thomas didn't return for the finale of 'Home Improvement' -- and weren't happy about it. However, he could be getting a new show soon, and well, it's not so safe for work! Brothers on screen, co-writers off? That's how it seems for Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Zachery Ty Bryan! Their TV mom, Patricia Richardson just revealed during a Q&A that her Home Improvement family members were currently shopping around a pilot!

When Patricia took to Reddit for a Q&A, we weren’t surprised to see a lot of questions about Home Improvement. One fan had a question that we also had: does she still keep in touch with any of the cast? We know that she does still have a working relationship with Tim Allen since she worked on a few episodes of his show Last Man Standing — but she’s also in touch with JTT & Zach, her former TV kids.

“I do stay in touch with Zach and Jonathan, who in fact have written a really wonderful pilot that is sort of R-rated and are shopping it around town,” she wrote on Reddit. “Jonathan also directs Last Man Standing, and I got to see him there. Of course I’ve seen Tim.”

While she added there aren’t “plans” to do a reunion show (“Usually, those things don’t work very well”), we’d be happy with JTT and Zach teaming up — and a cameo from Patricia and Tim!

Of course, JTT made headlines when he didn’t return for the final episode of Home Improvement, which aired in May 1999. “I think that it was very fortunate that Jonathan is so smart and well balanced,” she said when asked about Jonathan. “When he left the show, he ended up going back to school and got a really good education and thought a lot about what he wanted to do with his life. When he was on the show at one point, he said to me he was interested in being a politician.”

Well, we’re happy for him — but we’d love to see him back in front of the camera, right? Plus, we recently chatted with Richard Karn and he totally said he’s game for a reunion.

So, do you want one, HollywoodLifers? Would you watch Zach and JTT’s pilot? Let us know!
