DMX Resuscitated By Police After Being Found With No Pulse — Report

So scary! Rapper DMX reportedly collapsed on Feb. 8 in New York, after complaining of shortness of breath -- and he landed in the hospital. DMX, 45, was reportedly complaining of chest pains and shortness of breath while outside his hotel room at Ramada Yonkers on Monday. While his entourage searched for his inhaler, since he suffers from asthma, he actually collapsed on the floor!

The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons is currently recovering in the hospital after collapsing from what he believes was a nasty asthma attack, TMZ originally reported. The cops responded to call around 6PM concerning an unconscious man; when they arrived, DMX was reportedly on the ground in the parking lot next to a car, not breathing with no pulse. After a minute of performing CPR, his pulse returned.

An eyewitness told the site that he had “ingested some sort of powder before lapsing,” and police gave him Narcan, an antidote to narcotic ODs. He was taken to the hospital when he was “semi-conscious” and is recovering.

His friend, Swizz Beatz tweeted an update: “Just got off the phone with the DOG . He’s good and in great spirits Thanks for all the blessings 🙏🏽 @Dmx the Great!”

Just last week, DMX was added to the lineup for the Roots Picnic music festival in Philadelphia, along with UsherFuture and Leon Bridges. The concert is set for June 4. We haven’t heard much from the rapper, but we know he is in and out of jail. Last year he was sentenced to six months for refusing to pay child support — he was arrested right after his release as well, on a contempt of court charge.

DMX is set to perform this Saturday, Feb. 13, as well at Reverb in Reading, Pennsylvania.
