Zayn took to shaming Perrie and her bandmates on Twitter on Aug. 16 by dissing their latest single, and he’s been warned by friends he should stop acting up and move on from the drama.
“Zayn’s been told by his pals to stop his feud with Perrie because it’s making him look bad,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “By throwing shade at her and her bandmates on Twitter, the way he told her they were over with a text, and then asking her to move out, he’s totally come off as the bad guy.”
Instead, our source says, he should be dropping his beef with his former fiancée and concentrate on the matter in hand — following up his One Direction exit by putting out some killer music.
“Friends have told him he was in the wrong with the way he treated her and he could’ve handled things in a more mature way,” the source continued. “They’ve told Zayn he should now move on, forget about dissing her online and concentrate on what he does best — his music.”
Zayn Malik: Why He Didn’t Attend The Teen Choice Awards
As HollywoodLife.com previously revealed, Zayn ducked out of attending the Teen Choice Awards on Aug. 16, where Perrie and her Little Mix bandmates performed, because he wanted to avoid an awkward run-in.
Zayn, who was also nominated for Choice Male Hottie, also felt uneasy going up against his 1D mates for that award, a source told us. “Zayn is in LA and easily could have attended the awards, but he didn’t want to deal with all the drama,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Not only Perrie, but being nominated against 1D for Choice Male Hottie makes him uncomfortable, too. He is going to steer clear of the whole scene.”
