‘Revenge’: Jack & Emily’s Happy Ending Was Perfect Way To Wrap Series

It only took 89 episodes, but on the May 10 series finale of 'Revenge,' Jack and Amanda finally hooked up! Not only did they have wild, passionate sex, but they got married and sailed off into the sunset together. I couldn't have asked for a better ending to my favorite series. For four seasons, I've waited patiently for Jack (Nick Wechsler) and Amanda (Emily VanCamp) to hook up. Thankfully, on the May 10 series finale of Revenge, they finally did the dirty. And then Jack put a ring on it and wifed up. In my opinion, it was the perfect way to wrap the series. Here's why.

‘Revenge’: Jack & Emily Have Sex & Get Married — Perfect Series Finale Ending

I consider myself a patient man, but sometimes enough is enough. When Revenge first premiered on Sept. 21, 2011, it seemed pretty evident that Jack and Amanda were destined to be together. They were childhood best friends, who always had feelings for each other. And even when Amanda returned to the Hamptons 17 years after leaving, their love for each other still remained.

Throughout the past four seasons, we — as viewers — got teased a lot. During the first season, Jack declared his feelings for Amanda (then Emily), which he said “comes along once or twice in a lifetime, if we’re lucky.” (Watch the video below.) Sadly, she was seeing Daniel (Josh Bowman). Then, in season two, when Amanda found out that Jack impregnated the fake Amanda (Margarita Levieva), she got upset and insisted he get a paternity test. But alas, the baby ended up being his. And when Amanda told Jack the truth about her identity in the season two finale, I finally thought they’d get together. But they didn’t. And towards the end of season four, Jack told Amanda he loves her, but she wasn’t ready for a relationship with him. I constantly felt like my emotions were being toyed with. It seemed like a happy ending was nowhere in sight. Thankfully, with no more obstacles in the way (ie. Aiden, Daniel, fake Amanda, and just plain old fear) Jack and Amanda finally hooked up. And I’m glad they did. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been a happy camper. Seriously — you can’t end Revenge without having Jack and Amanda end up together.

Ideally, I think they could have picked a better place to have sex for the first time, but I’ll ignore the fact that they smashed in the house where Ben died. And their wedding was just icing on the cake!

After putting up with Aiden Mathis (Barry Sloane) for two seasons (I was never a fan of him. #sorrynotsorry), I felt a sense of relief upon seeing Amanda not only survive her showdown with Victoria, but live to see many more days with Jack by her side.
