‘The Walking Dead’ Finale: Maggie Confronts Deanna

If you’ve been paying attention to this season of The Walking Dead, you know that Maggie has essentially become Deanna’s right-hand woman. Alexandria’s leader discusses everything with Maggie, and even lets her sit in when other people from the town come to talk to her — even if it’s about her own group of newcomers.

That’s why it’s no surprise that Maggie goes straight to Deanna and her husband when she finds out that there will be a town forum to discuss Rick’s outburst in the March 22 episode. In the clip above, we see Maggie try to reason with Deanna — and reconsider the idea of letting the town decide to shove him back out into the wild.

To the Alexandrians Rick must seem like a threat, but to Maggie and the rest of the group, he’s a hero. A damaged hero, but a hero nonetheless. Surprisingly, Josh McDermitt who plays Eugene on the show told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY something very similar.

Josh: Rick Is Like ‘The Governor’ To Alexandria

“If you really pull back what’s going on, [Father Gabriel]’s right. We aren’t the greatest people, as viewers we’re rooting for the group, but Rick is biting necks! We’re just killing people instantly,” Josh said, explaining why the people of Alexandria are so hesitant to trust the group of survivors.

“Who’s to say that we as a group or any person in our group isn’t The Governor to someone else, through someone else’s eyes?”

Yikes. We’ve already explored the idea of Rick turning into some weird, parallel version of Shane now that he’s gone a little batty, but a Governor comparison? Alexandria
