‘The Vampire Diaries’: Stefan Turns Off Humanity — Season 6 Episode 16 Recap
Whoa. Caroline, without her humanity, is one crazy b****. Not only did she nearly kill Liam within the first five minutes of the March 12 episode, but she also attended a rave and lured Sarah Salvatore to The Mystic Grill so she should could compel Liam to operate on her and ultimately kill her.
You might be asking yourself why Caroline would do such a thing, but it’s quite simple — she wanted Stefan (Paul Wesley) to get off her back and stop trying to turn her humanity back on. And the only way Caroline knew how to do this was to force Stefan to ALSO turn his humanity off. You see, Caroline feels that Stefan is a risk to the way she’s choosing to live her life — he’s her emotional trigger. If he were to try hard enough, he could turn her humanity back on. Caroline figured this out and decided it was time to turn his feelings off.
‘Vampire Diaries’: Will Damon & Elena Break Up Soon?
Caroline said she would compel Liam to stop killing Sarah if Stefan turned his humanity off. Elena (Nina Dobrev) tried to find Sarah before it was too late, but Stefan became impatient and did as Caroline wished. However, before “flipping the switch,” he forced Elena to promise to bring him back.
Damon Discovers His Mom Was A Ripper
Meanwhile, Bonnie’s return impacted everyone, but no one more than Damon and Kai. Damon, of course, saw the footage of his mother from 1903 — where Bonnie was trapped — and realized she never died. He sort of teamed up with Kai to figure out how to bring her back, but Kai demanded a meeting with Bonnie. He wanted to apologize to her for torturing her in the prison world. Bonnie, however, wasn’t ready to forgive and forget. She’s still reeling from being tortured by him — she even threatened to melt Kai’s face off if she sees him again (please don’t!). After Kai’s failed attempt at apologizing to Bonnie, he told Damon that his mother was/is a ripper (like Stefan used to be) and she killed hundreds of people, which is why she’s currently in one of the two prison worlds.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Will Elena bring Stefan back? Should Damon try to save his mom? Tell us how you feel!
