Sarah Jones’ Train Accident Video: Reveals Moments Before She Was Killed
Earlier footage showed the accident from the train, but in this new video, we can see actors William Hurt, Wyatt Russell, and the movie crew scatter once they catch sight of the oncoming train. But, what’s most heartbreaking of this footage is that we can clearly see the hospital bed that was directly responsible for Sarah’s untimely death.
When the train collided with the bed, it recoiled and struck Sarah, propelling her towards the train where she was struck and killed instantly.
The filmmakers were attempting to shoot a dream sequence involving William, as Greg Allman, who was laying in a hospital bed placed on the train tracks. There were attempts to drop the scene from the movie, but director Randall Miller eventually proceeded with the now-deadly filming, reports the Daily Mail.
Sarah was a beloved crew member on such shows as Glee, The Vampire Diaries and Blue Bloods, with loving tributes following her untimely death. Our condolences continue to go out to Sarah’s family and friends for their heartbreaking loss.
‘Vampire Diaries’ EP On Sarah: Why Her Death Could Save Lives
Sarah’s tragic death could help save future lives. The Vampire Diaries executive producer Caroline Dries spoke with HollywoodLife.com about the Slates For Sarah campaign to raise awareness about set safety so the tragedy that happened to Sarah never happens again.
The Slates For Sarah Campaign, Caroline said in the interview is about “having the leadership roles on set really step up and say ‘no.’ What we said to the crew after we learned [about Sarah’s death] was ‘no shot will ever be as important as you, as your friends, as your family…as you are as people.”
