Joan Rivers Left $150 Million Fortune To Melissa Rivers & Dogs

Joan’s will is pretty simple, she’s leaving her extravagant, $35 million Upper East Side apartment to Melissa, everything goes to Melissa and her grandson Cooper. But who else did she make sure to leave clear instructions for?

Samantha and Teegan, her two NYC rescue dogs, and a Jack Russell Terrier and a Border Collie in California, according to the Daily Mail. Samantha and Teegan were by Joan’s side while she was in the hospital in a coma.

Joan was known to talk about her love for her animals, and she told the Wall Street Journal, just how much she loved her pooches.

Joan Rivers’ Endoscopy: Medical Director Fired After Death

“Only when you love dogs very much do you let them sit on $300-per-yard French fabric,” she said. “Samantha is the little black-haired one and Teegan is my newest rescue. I’ve never been one of those Fifth Avenue ladies that have to have dogs that match. I am the Angelina Jolie of barkers.’

But quite a bit of Joan’s recent fortune comes from her QVC enterprise. She reportedly sold over $1 billion in merchandise, from her brooches, scarves and dresses.

Joan — Did A Surprise Biopsy Kill Her?

We told you that Joan had brought along her own ear, nose and throat specialist to her endoscopy procedure at Yorkville Endoscopy, Aug. 28, but it was her doctor that asked the Yorkville specialists to allow him to remove something he noticed on her vocal chords.

“He asked and they let him,” the source told the New York Daily News. “A huge no-no.”

Yorkville Endoscopy told ABC News that they had every possible piece of equipment to have revived the late comedian: “as a federally and state licensed facility, has the same level of life-saving and resuscitation devices (such as state-of-the-art cardiac defibrillators, airway management equipment, etc.) found in any hospital emergency room or hospital-based operating room.”

It’s incredibly hard to believe she is gone but it definitely is nice to hear that she really went above and beyond to make sure her loved ones were taken care of.

HollywoodLifers, are you surprised that she left some of her fortune to her dogs?
