Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner & Kendall Jenner Appeared To Be Texting During VMA Ferguson Memorial

Rapper Common took the stage at the MTV VMAs on August 24 to announce the nominees for Best Hip Hop Video when he asked the audience to take a moment to honor the town of Ferguson, Missouri, and fallen teenager Michael Brown who was shot six times and killed by police officer Darren Wilson on August 9.

“Hip hop has always presented a voice for the revolution,” Common said. “I want us all to take a moment of silence for Mike Brown and for peace in this country and in the world.”

While the music community was honoring Michael, the Kardashian and Jenner sisters appeared to be texting and chatting, rather than observing the moment.

The cameras panned over Kim, Kylie and Kendall in the audience who were staring at the phones and looking bored in the front row.

Fans Outraged Over Kim, Kylie & Kendall Texting At VMAs

While other A-listers such as Snoop Dogg were paying their respects to Michael Brown, the Kardashians and Jenners seemingly did not want to be bothered by the memorial, instead focusing on their phones.

The famous sisters have caused an uproar on social media.

HollywoodLife.com has reached out to MTV to see if the texting moment was actually during the Ferguson memorial or if it could have been a tape delay. MTV had no comment.

HollywoodLifers, if Kim, Kylie and Kendall were in fact texting during the Ferguson memorial, do you think it was rude and insensitive? Let us know.
