Kelly Clarkson’s Family Not Invited To Her Wedding
The “Tie It Up” singer was originally planning a big wedding, but she just decided to elope with her longtime boyfriend at Blackberry Farm, a luxury resort in the Smoky Mountains in Walland, Tenn.
Kelly’s mom, Jeanne Taylor, spoke out about her daughter’s beautiful Oct. 20 wedding, and surprisingly said she isn’t upset about not being invited!
“[Kelly] was so afraid we might be upset. But we were fine with it. I had known that she was under a lot of stress. And we just wanted her to be happy and not stressed out. I think the biggest thing for us to do was to allow her to do what she wanted to do,” Jeanne told Celebuzz.
It’s so good to hear that Kelly is still on good terms with her family, and why her mother supported her decision to elope!
Kelly Clarkson: Why She Eloped With Brandon Blackstock
Kelly’s been touring and her new album, Wrapped In Red, drops on Oct. 29, so her mother says career stress contributed to her daughter’s small wedding decision.
“She said they were just so overwhelmed with the tour and they just decided to elope. But she didn’t want to hurt our feelings. She has had a lot on her plate and I’ve seen her schedule for the next month and Christmas,” Jeanne said.
Brandon and Kelly got engaged in December 2012, and obtained a marriage license on Oct. 15., which kind of gave it away that they’d be getting hitched in the near future!
But who knew their gorgeous wedding would be so small?
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? If you were Kelly, would you have invited your family to your wedding? Let us know!
