“The song and the album title X have a couple different meanings,” Chris, 23, tells MTV. “It can refer to an ex-girlfriend, in terms of you always look forward to moving forward from.”
Chris Says He’s Over The Past And Ex Karrueche
“It’s also about being a reject in a sense. In me being myself, being able to grow up, me not always hanging around the right crowd or doing the right thing all the time — it’s me saying, ‘I’m over it. I’m past the bullsh– now,'” Chris added.
We’re glad to see Chris is putting the past behind him and moving forward with his life, where he can focus on one woman — Rihanna!
Chris Accepts Responsibility For Assaulting Rihanna
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Chris sat down with Ryan Seacrest on Mar. 26 and in a candid new interview, the singer made it clear that he accepts the blame for assaulting Rihanna, 25, back in 2009.
“At that young age, I was arrogant and definitely hotheaded,” Chris said. “Everybody has a temper, but for me it was not knowing how to control it when I thought I had the world in my hands.”
Chris Wasn’t Sure Rihanna Will Forgive Him
Chris says he wasn’t sure if Rihanna would ever forgive him for assaulting her. She did forgive him, however, and Chris says he’s fortunate.
Chris says he is mortified for hitting Rihanna four years ago. He adds that he’s fortunate Rihanna forgave him and he’s thankful she’s accepted him back into her life.
“I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident and that time was probably the worst part of my life and being that she’s a wonderful person I’m eternally grateful and thankful,” Chris said.
Sound off, HollywoodLifers. Can Chris and Karrueche still be friends?
