From the moment you appeared on stage amid fire and lights , you brought “it.”
You looked confident, sexy, and completely at home on that big lit -up stage. There wasn’t a moment where you faltered in your singing and dancing.
Beyonce — The Best Halftime Performance Of The Last Decade
Contrast that with last year when we spent most of Madonna’s performance uncomfortably worrying that the Material Girl was going to fall off her too-high heels, instead of being able to relax and enjoy her performance. She was unsteady– the infamously good dancer could barely cut a move.
Plus her voice sounded nervous and weak and then her guest singer, M.I.A., boldly stole the show by giving the finger mid-performance.
But even Madonna topped the shockingly lackluster performance of the Black Eyed Peas and Usher in 2011.
Talk about falling off your heels — Fergie had to forego dancing almost entirely thanks to choosing fashionable footwear over practical party stomp wear. And if you were like me, you kept adjusting your volume, trying to catch the Peas’ sound.
Beyonce, you made none of those missteps. You looked totally comfortable singing and dancing up a storm for 13 minutes.
In fact, you appeared to be having an absolutely fantastic time. The words “owned the stage” were made for you last night.
A Perfect Outfit For A Perfect Performance
And let’s talk about that costume you wore. It was like a second skin that moved seamlessly with you as you moved seamlessly.
Contrast that with Madonna’s constricting Egyptian/Roman General moment topped by a teetering gold-spiked headdress.
Beyonce, you clearly weren’t making that major mistake. No — your super sexy black leather/lace bodysuit highlighted your body to perfection, revealed no malfunctions and inspired millions of us to hit the gym today.
The Super Ladies Of Super Bowl Sunday
Finally, let’s talk about how you led off a stellar roster of Super Women for the Super Bowl: Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Michele Williams and Kelly Rowland.
Men may have ruled on the playing field but females took control from the start of Alicia Keys’ national anthem to Jennifer Hudson leading the Sandy Hook choir in “America the Beautiful.”
How inspiring Beyonce — you proved that women just won the Super Bowl!
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did Beyonce & Pepsi put on the best Super Bowl halftime show in years? Let me know.
