'90210' Recap: Naomi Gets Revenge & Teddy Gets Going… Going… Gone

Warning: Long, emotional tribute to Teddy Montgomery (and Trevor Donovan) ahead! We've seen quite a few characters come and go over the years on 90210, but no one received a farewell as emotional -- and deserving -- as Teddy (Trevor Donovan) was given on the show's Nov. 29 episode. We've been anticipating his departure with dread since the news broke last summer, and I applaud the writers for sending him off in a way that was not only respectful of the character, but also satisfying to the show's very loyal fans.

Reading Time: 3 minutes

But I’ll get to Teddy in a minute. For now, let’s focus on the drama:

I figured Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and Holly’s (Megalyn Echikunwoke) season-long cat fight would reach its climax this week, but oh boy, these kitties still have plenty of scratching left to do. “Sorostitute” Holly thought she got the best of Naomi when she stole her designs for the student fashion show, but as she always managed to do, Naomi made the best of it — with a little help from a handy pair of scissors.

Janice Dickinson was the runway show’s special guest judge, and even though you’d never be able to tell by the complete lack of movement in her totally natural face, she hated both girls’ designs. Still, the night wasn’t a total bust for our golden-haired heroine. She got a sweet internship with a party planning firm — which happens to be run by none other than Holly’s mother!

(Cat fight… round two… ding, ding, ding!)

Meanwhile, Annie (Shenae Grimes) was entrenched in a fight of her own — but with less claws and more lawyers. After learning the only way to get her share of Marla’s estate would be to return the necklace she pawned on the season premiere, Annie returned to the shop… only to discover that handsome bastard Jeremy (Matt Cohen) beat her to it! Seriously, why are the handsome ones always such bastards?

And as much as I expected Dixon (Tristan Wilds) to fall off the wagon again — I was beginning to feel like I was watching a live-action “Oregon Trail” — he totally stayed strong this week. Ironically, his anti-drug is actually Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) and her music, which he remixed with some of his own rap lyrics. (See? I told you they were going to make beautiful music together!)

OK now it’s time to talk about Teddy again:

What I loved about his exit was that it was simple, touching, and most importantly, logical. Teddy’s been on the road all season, so it makes sense that he would take off again, this time for good. And he made sure to tie up every loose end before taking off, including making up with Silver (Jessica Stroup) and giving one last phone call to his uncle.

(Seriously, who didn’t get all emotional when he said, “Tell dad I’m happy”?)

And you know what? For the first time since we met Shane (Ryan Rottman), I totally accepted him and Teddy as a couple. So after a string of “WTF” relationships — I’m looking at you, Ian and Marco — Teddy finally rode off into the sunset with the right guy.

Happy endings all around!
