HollywoodLife.com spoke with the stunning actress on April 25 at the premiere of her upcoming film Last Night present by the Tribeca Film Festival and Cinema Society, with American Express and says you can be in a healthy and committed relationship without tying the knot. And here’s why.
“It’s nothing negative when I say that [I don’t believe in marriage]. I just don’t think marriage is necessary, as necessary as society makes it,” Eva told us at the premiere, presented by the Tribeca Film Festival and Cinema Society. “And I don’t have a negative point of view on it. I just think it’s a very old tradition and if you look back to what marriage symbolizes in the first place … it has nothing with why we get married today.”
In the steamy flick, Eva plays the co-worker of Keira Knightley‘s husband [Sam Worthington]. They go away on a business trip in Philadelphia and she tempts Sam with the forbidden possibility of cheating on his wife of seven years. Eva is gorgeous, sexy, smart, and spends full workdays with a devoted husband — basically every woman’s worst nightmare.
“Everybody here is the other person, that’s the way we or I saw the script. Everybody was playing the other person at a certain point,” she says. “So there was no villain, there was no seductress. Everyone was using different techniques to get what they wanted.
Last Night questions everything you ever doubted about commitment, marriage, and infidelity in your own relationship.
