“Demi was indicating that this would be her eventual decision (to not overload her schedule with both music and the series) soon after returning home but wasn’t ready to talk about it publicly until now,” an insider tells HollywoodLife.com. “She is working hard on her health — it is truly admirable. Disney cares first and foremost about her health and happiness.”
So there’s no bad blood between Demi and the company that put her on the map?
“Not at all,” our source says. “She built a huge fan base at Disney Channel and through her music — they’re remarkaly supportive of her.”
A rep for Disney reiterated the company’s support, telling us, “There are no plans at this time [for her to return to TV], but she remains with Disney’s Hollywood Records for the music side of her career.”
Although we’re disappointed Demi won’t be making us laugh on SWAC, we can’t wait for the 18-year-old triple threat to produce more music! Plus, we can always watch re-runs…
Do you support Demi’s decision to leave her show? Are you excited to hear her new music? Sound off below!
