After graduating from Hazel Grove High School, she later studied to be a professional hair and make-up artist while performing at night clubs. The future star auditioned for ‘Popstars: The Rivals’, winning a spot in the girl group Girls Aloud alongside Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh. The group were a smash success in the pop world, earning their first hit record with “Sound of the Underground,” then going onto release four follow-up albums. The group went into hiatus in 2009, at whch point Sarah turned her attention to acting — appearing on a BBC TV movie, several films and ‘Coronation Street’ — before reuniting with Girls Aloud in 2012 for their 10-year anniversary. The group later split in 2013, with several — including Sarah — pursuing solo projects. In Aug. 2020, Sarah, took to Instagram to announce she was battling breast cancer and the disease had spread to other parts of her body. ““I’m currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy sessions and I am fighting as hard as I possibly can.
