Sam Lowry Hunt, better known as Sam Hunt, was born on December 8, 1984 in Cedartown, Georgia. He originally attempted at a career in the NFL before making his big transition into the music industry. Sam released his first EP, ‘X2C’, which included the number one single “Leave the Light On” in early 2014. His debut studio album, ‘Montevallo’, was released later that year and debuted at number one on the Billboard Country Album charts. It received critical acclaim and has gone onto sell three million copies. His song, “Body Like a Backroad,” became his biggest hit to date, reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100 and spending a whopping 34 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot Country songs charts, which remained a record before Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line’s “Meant to Be” dethroned it. Sam has been nominated and won several honors over the past couple of years including Best New Artist at the 2015 American Music Awards.
