King Charles & Camilla Parker Bowles: Photos — King Charles III and Camilla Parker Bowles relationship has spanned over 5 decades, and has shaped much of the monarch’s life. The pair will enter the next phase of their public life when they celebrate their Coronation on Saturday, May 6. The relationship has been heavily dissected by royal watchers and biographers, but here are the broad strokes.

The King met Camilla in 1970 and while they did date, they broke things off once Charles went to sea to serve in the Royal Navy. Camilla would marry Andrew Parker Bowles in 1973 and Charles wed Princess Diana Spencer in 1981, but Camilla remained a fixture in the King’s life.

While some say the King and Camilla’s affair started in 1986, it didn’t become public until a leaked recording of a private phone call was published by The Mirror in 1993. Both were divorced a year later. Diana died in 1997, after which time Charles and Camilla went public with their relationship. They wed in 2005, after which she was made the Duchess Of Cornwall. Charles ascended to the British throne in Sep. 2022 after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth. Camilla’s title is officially Queen Consort.

Now, the royal couple is going to be more in the spotlight than ever, with them celebrating their Coronation on May 6, 2023. The special ceremony will be a star-studded affair with many members of the Royal Family joining, with members like Prince William, who is next in the line of succession, taking on special roles.
